The Sinister Compendium is a quarterly non-profit creative/DIY publication from the owners and associates of The Left Hand Soap Company. Visitors are encouraged to peruse the pages of our journal, and to submit work of their own. We will consider anything...in any format. No really, ANYTHING. Of course, we reserve the right to label you as the lunatic that you are. (we like that about you.)
First printing, second printing, whatever. Editing may occur for format issues. All rights retained by author/artist always. Direct Questions or Submissions to sinistercompendium [at] gmail.com.
After a bit of neglect, a flood of effort and much love on the part of submissions and editing, the SC 3.1 is out and about!!
Check all the normal locations: Capture Cafe, One Night Only ARTique!, the Bama Theatre [as of Tuscapalooza on Friday] and wherever you see The Left Hand prowling around. We’ll have some on us all the time.
We are happy to announce - for those that missed it the first time, that the last, and, when I get them mailed, the newest issue of the SC can be found at Hen House Distro. Check them out for other great zines and goodies, too!!
If you’re on the mailing list, those will go out this Friday and should be to you within the week. Contributors, if you haven’t gotten a note from me already, let me know if you need more than your three copies and I’ll pile those in, too.
Check it out folks: 3.1 is out with new work by JMinor, C. Rankin, Wade Austin and the Tuscaloosa Permaculture & Peak Oil Solutions Group, B. Stith, the Dirty Irishman and MORE!! Free as always and available as a pdf from sinistercompendium.com starting this afternoon.
If you venture inward for the pdf version, the wonderful insert for this issue can be found at nanibird – that’s right, Anarchy Farmer Bird is just what the springtime ordered! That’s nanibird.com. nanibird dot com.
It’s the beginning of the SC’s third year and we just keep loving you guys!
Cheers,
soapy.
NOTE: Due to the chaos that ensues when it comes time to laying out the final version of the journal, we, in all our frenzy, forgot to include the following image in the current edition of the SC. Big oops on our part and apologies to RWF and Copsicle.
I know...I know, you’ve come to learn – or support – Clean Water, Safe Camp and you can’t find the button, link, tab, green-neon sign that directs you to such a place. Well, that place does exist – but only in the framework of our in-progress site here at the abode. It’ll be here very soon – we are working diligently on the code. Until then, any questions, comments, thoughts, can be directed to our email [sinistercompendium@gmail.com] and we’ll let everyone know the moment the CWSC info is up! Sorry for the delay – we’ve been swamped. -Soapy
Winter solstice has come and gone and with it came a new issue of the SC. We’re thrilled to have some absolutely fantastic contributors this time around – some interesting articles and bubbles from The Bubble Project as an insert. If you’re viewing the issue online – pdf’style – then check out our insert at here. It’s so very worth it.
Also included in this issue [but not limited to, of course]: Words by jminor, Alyson Greenfield and Catherine Rankin; articles by the angry German and Daniel McGowan; information about Raise The Voice and Scrollworks [both in Birmingham, AL] and a host of other information and provocation!
Want a paper copy [printed on Mohawk Paper]? Drop us a line at all the usual places.
Cheers, Soapy
